Animal Voyage: Island Adventure App Reviews

This game is wonderful in concept and graphics, BUT the developers greed has more than ruined anything this game had going for it. Unless you are willing to shell out (on average) about $10 USD on each of the countless animals this game requires to complete tasks or regions, then I suggest you steer clear. I spent $10 on the game, and when I saw how quickly it disappeared, and how little it helped me progress, I knew I was in trouble. Tried to hang in and see if progression was possible w/o real money, but not so. Also irritating was the length of time it took to build or do anything. In addition, each island you travel to will send ALL of the animals you own for that region to the island, causing "jam ups" at the island entrance - some of the animals cant get past other animals to clear things, and if you happen to be out of food for some of them (even if you dont need them there), it really turns into a mess. I was not able to find a way to limit or choose which animals went to the islands - game would have been much less frustrating if that were possible (because certain animals can clear ALL obstacles, so you really only need one, instead of five tripping over each other). Ended up having to delete app to avoid frustration and temptations to part with even more of my hard earned cash. If you are also susceptible to high pressure "spend real money to complete this quest in time" tactics, then I suggest you RUN, not walk, away from this app... NOW.

I Really Like This Game A Lot But The Thing I Dont Like I Have To Get Like 150 Gems In Order To Move On The Game Right Now Im Stuck And Gems Is The Only Thing Needed I Really Dont Wanna Pay for Gems They Need To Make Something Like Buying Gems With The Coins

So I like the game but it takes up way to much storage. Its like one gigabyte! And is in the top three apps I have that take up a lot of storage.

I agree with what I have already read. There should be a way to get the animals without buying crystals. Some animals will not be rescued as I refuse to buy any. Also I agree that the tine for some builds are way too long and got expensive quick with no way to get coins quick. One thing I havent seen is the fact that it takes forever to load most times. I like it but could be a little better. This no longer works with new iPhones. I cant get coins or play games. Needs to updated for new operating system.

I love animals so much and I hate the fact that you have to wait so long for the construction to get done if they were real animals you wouldnt have to wait that long to help them. Its a good game but when it come to saving animals I dont want to wait 1-2 hours just for the construction of their home to be done. I also dont like the fact that in order to save rare animals you have to use crystals and they are hard to get a hold of. If you could just fix these 2 problems I will give you guys a five stars. I love the game but it is not working in my new iPhone 6S. When I tap on homes nothing happens.

I started playing this game back when I had the iPhone 4s and loved it; never had a problem in all the years Ive been playing. Then I upgraded to the iPhone 6s and now I cant collect coins feed animals etc. Definitely not optimized for the 6s!!!!

Screen freezes up a lot. Plz make it easier to reach animals. Make screen not blurry. And most of all, make the wolves and horses look less dorky. Oh, plz add zodiac wolves if you dont have them. Overall great game

I played this game to the end. Yes it take a long time for some things to happen, but I stuck with it (without spending money) and was able to fill all but 1 open space, got all animals up to maximum strength, 4 animals to each house. As you stick with the game, explore islands to get crystals, you can complete to the end.

The special vault where you watch videos for free items wont work.

Its awesome and totally worth it

When I got this game I was so excited. When I stared it it didnt make sense so I read the direction and even the direction sounded fun

12/19/15 Update: Well, it looks like that app may have run its course. I havent gotten new area animals in over 6 months even though there are others out there based on the forum & other websites. I have to conclude in order to move past where I am, I have to complete one or both of the two that have been sitting for at least that amount of time. I do not think I should be forced / compelled to spend gems to move on. Previously after a certain amount of time passed, the islands disappeared (you snooze, you lose) & a new quest set would start. Most recently & the primary reasons Im posting, there hasnt been an update in quite some time. Plus there has been a weekly weekend event that, without warning or explanation other than were trying to figure out a loophole was terminated 6 weeks ago. It doesnt take that long to determine what the issue is. The daily scratches are worse than they were when I updated a year ago. Heres the way theyre going to breakdown: no weekend event; youre going to get coins & leaves, weekend event; youre going to get a bunch of food, a mix of leaves, coins, keys, but mostly food. At this point if you arent playing, I would not recommend it. 11/1/14 Update: Since posting this review Ive gotten no gems through the daily wheel spin, none through the daily scratch off and only a few gold treasure chests (3?) have netted gems on islands. Add to that today one of the hidden chests found while clearing islands which have always given one gem gave a bag of flour. Flour!! A little disclosure: I do buy into apps if I like them. Usually its only once, much like if you buy a Wii or Xbox game. I strongly believe apps & devs deserve support. One of the daily scratch events for a special animal was botched & even though it had me in the top 10, they took that prize away & gave everyone a small conciliation prize. Given the fact that 375 gems were spent on another event to earn an extra 40 swipes AND the issue was their error, they should have given everyone the animal like they have done in the past. We are on the 2nd event since then & even with swipes hoarded, unless you buy in getting a special animal isnt possible. Ill continue to play once or twice a day, but for all intents & purposes this app is being shelved in spite of buying in 3 times. I refuse to pay more for an app than I would for an exceptionally well put together X-Box or Wii game. --------------- Original Review: Mixed Thoughts That said, in the case of this app, they should have made it a buy-in app from the get go. I power play everything, dont have to have every item or animal thats released & dont feel any pressure to move fast. It happens when it happens. Even with my laid back attitude with the competitive aspect of the game yet the aggressive manner in actual play (collecting coins, making food, clearing islands, completing puzzles ad nauseous, etc) I still have a difficult time earning gems. The game is clearly, almost humorously, stacked. If the daily wheel has an odd item that day (spade, food, etc) thats what youll be getting that day. The quests where you have to collect puzzle pieces in the daily scratch off are all but impossible to win. Speaking of the daily scratch off, when its an average day, youre most likely going to get coins or leaves, but if its one of the map collection events, youre going to be collections a lot of food. If you are not an aggressive player & dont have to have everything that comes out, you dont have to be the first or best at whatever, if you can play passively in that aspect, this game is pretty cool. There are worse apps. I wish they would be straight forward about the give always & contests. It isnt horrible. It isnt great. Im still playing it for now. :)

This is the worst game Ive ever played in my life. It isnt even as good as baby butts

Takes for ever to freaking load. I cant even get into the game. The bar loads 1/3 of the way and just stops and keeps saying loading. I will change my review when I can actually GET INTO the game

Would be a lot more fun to play and might keep players attention better if it didnt take so long to find anything. Someone forgot to update the game to allow player to chose which animal to take to other islands, wonder what other functions were left out that are required for play? Still fun. But I think Ill move on until games updated.

This is a very good game! I like all the animals in it very much. The animation is also great! But whenever I am in the shop for too long, the game crashes and I suddenly appear in the home screen. Also, it is kinda hard to get gems, and fixing bridges is sooooooooooo expensive! Plz fix crashes! Plz plz plz! Still really good game though!
